Cardinal Bagnasco visits COMECE
From 9 to 13 January, H.E Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco (President of the Italian Bishops Conference and of CCEE) is visiting Brussels with a group of 30 young priests from the Archdiocese of Genoa, Italy.
The visit, in addition to having a pastoral character, is also the occasion to extend and deepen knowledge of the policies of the EU and in particular the activities of COMECE and its Secretariat.
The visit includes meetings with representatives of the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Italian Permanent Representation to the EU, as well as with journalists.
On January 9th a mass was held in the chapel of St. Francis in Brussels, with the Italian community in Brussels. On 10 January, the Cardinal was able to participate in the blessing of the COMECE offices by the children according to the Kindermission Sternsinger tradition.
The group also went to the historical centre of Brussels and to the cities of Ghent and Bruges for cultural visits.
