The COMECE Commission on Social Affairs monitors and prepares statements, contributions, and activities to the ongoing EU-policy and public debate on the wider social policy of the EU: labour and employment, working conditions, human dignity, fight against poverty, integral ecology, social, economic and contributive justice.
Its President is H.E. Mgr. Joseph Galea-Curmi, Bishop Delegate of the Maltese Episcopate to COMECE. Its Secretary is Alix de Wasseige, Policy adviser of the COMECE Secretariat. The members of the Commission are experts on social policy nominated by the EU Bishops’ Conferences for a mandate of 5 years.
