COMECE participates to expert meeting on religion and human rights

The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) seems to be willing to mark a new openness to Churches and religious communities, as a wide-ranging expert meeting was organised on the nexus between religion and human rights.

Strasbourg: Parliament says yes to negotiation on the Audiovisual Media Service Directive

The Plenary of the European Parliament has approved the CULT Committee decision to enter into negotiations with the Council and the Commission on the revision of the Audiovisual Media Service Directive. COMECE welcomes this vote and encourages the EU institutions to prioritise child protection in the forthcoming negotiations.

Justice & Peace Europe, with COMECE, organises a lunch event on Securing Democracy and Justice in Post-Communist Europe. Keynote speaker will be Prof. Peter Rožič, S.J., who has led an in-depth comparative research of these “lustration” processes and put them in relation with available data on levels of corruption.
