On the occasion of the visit of Brother Alois, prior of the Taizé Community,

The Secretariat of COMECE invites to a

Press Conference of Brother Alois and Mgr Treanor (Secretary general of COMECE)

on Tuesday 30 January at 16:45

at the Secretariat of COMECE-42 rue Stévin -Brussels

At the invitation of the COMECE, Brother Alois, the prior of the ecumenical community of Taizé, and other Taizé brothers will come to Brussels on 30 January 2007. They will come to pray with those who are working for Europe in this city. Their presence and the programme they offer will make, for one day, the spiritual dimension of Europe’s path towards unity more visible – even if the political and economic dimension is normally predominant.

The work of European construction, which is a work of peace and freedom, will grow together with the mutual trust of the Europeans. For believers the trust in themselves and in others and trust in the love of God go together. Praying together can help us grow in trust. That is the reason why Brother Alois and his brothers have invited us. They propose you a three-part encounter.
