A delegation of Churches in Europe met in Bucharest on 28 January 2019 with Teodor-Viorel Meleșcanu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, to exchange views on the priorities of the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council.
A delegation from COMECE, together with CECand CROCEU, went to Bucharest on 28 January 2019 to meet Teodor-Viorel Meleșcanu, Foreign Affairs Minister of Romania, on the priorities of the Romanian EU Council Presidency.
The European Parliament adopted on 15 January 2019 the resolution on the EU guidelines and the mandate of the EU Special Envoy on Freedom of Religion outside the European Union. COMECE welcomes the adoption of this resolution.
COMECE reaffirmed the fundamental right to Freedom of Religion (FoRB) during a meeting at the EU Parliament on 5 November, highlighting the problem of religious illiteracy and the need to reinforce the EU mechanism for its protection.
