COMECE 2017 Plenary Assembly in Rome
One day ahead of (Re)Thinking Europe, while hundreds of high-level Church and EU political leaders are reaching Rome, Cardinal Reinhard Marx opened COMECE Standing Committee and COMECE Autumn Plenary Assembly.
In front of tens of bishops delegates to COMECE, Cardinal Marx reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to work side by side with all those actors dedicated to put the common good and the person, with its human dignity, at the center of public policies.
The Plenary Assembly focused on the upcoming event (Re)Thinking Europe. Bishops discussed the possible outcomes of the Dialogue, considering it not as the final result of a process but as the continuation of a process and the beginning of a new deal.
Beside (Re)Thinking Europe, delegates, in front of Alain Paul Charles Lebeaupin, Apostolic nuncio to the EU, had the opportunity to discuss COMECE reports, particularly on data protection.
