Si apre venerdì prossimo presso l'Aula Nuova del Sinodo in Vaticano, il Congresso “Ripensare l’Europa: contributo cristiano al futuro dell’Ue” organizzato dalla Commissione degli episcopati della Comunità Europea (Comece) in collaborazione con la Santa Sede, in occasione del 60.mo anniversario della firma dei Trattati di Roma (25 marzo 1957). Alla vigilia dei lavori il padre Bernd Hagenkord insieme alla Kna ha intervistato il card. Reinhard Marx, presidente della Comece.

(Re)Thinking Europe - Tagung zu Europa: „Einen Weg zurück gibt es nicht“

RADIO VATICANA - Europa muss sich weiter entwickeln, auch und gerade wegen der Krisen in der Vergangenheit. Einen Weg zurück gebe es nicht, sagt Kardinal Reinhard Marx, Präsident der EU-Bischöfe. Die Bischöfe – vereint in der COMECE – veranstalten dazu in dieser Woche im Vatikan einen Kongress, „(Re)thinking Europe“, Europa neu denken. „Wir wollen einen Raum schaffen, in dem Mut gemacht wird“ bringt der Vorsitzende der Comece, Kardinal Reinhard Marx, das Anliegen auf den Punkt.

SIR - “Though there are a few euro-sceptics, pride prevails for Estonia having taken back its place in Europe, with all the rights and duties that ensue”. The apostolic administrator, Bishop Philippe Jourdan, is in charge of looking after Estonia’s small Catholic community (7 thousand devotees). A minority group, but one that is no less lively and involved in the social and civil life of the country.
