STATEMENT | Cardinal Hollerich’s statement on the situation in Ukraine and in Europe

24/02 - On behalf of the EU Bishops, the President of COMECE has expressed serious concerns over the latest reports of escalating military actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. "The peace on the whole European continent and beyond is facing a serious threat. We ask the international community and the EU, to continue seeking a peaceful solution and to welcome refugees fleeing their homeland", he stated. Read the Statement

25/02 - Following Pope Francis's appeal “to everyone, believers and non-believers alike” to make March 2 - Ash Wednesday - “a day of prayer and fasting for peace in Ukraine", COMECE, CEC, the Finnish Seamen's Mission and the Chapel for Europe invite you to join one Ash Wednesday celebration in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Face mask is mandatory.

18/02 - The Catholic University of Avila (UCAV), in collaboration with the Pontifical Urbaniana University and the Institute for Advanced Studies on Women of the Pontifical University Regina Apostolorum, is promoting an international inter-university congress on female doctors of the Church and patrons of Europe.
