16/11 - In the context of recent events in Ukraine and Poland, COMECE released a statement elaborated by the COMECE Commission on the External Relations of the EU during its second annual meeting.

This statement follows COMECE Assembly's strong appeal to Russian authorities to "immediately to suspend the hostilities, and to all parties to open themselves up, with the help of the international community, to negotiation of ‘serious proposals’ for a just peace, to work towards a solution to the conflict, which respects international law and the territorial integrity of Ukraine.” The COMECE Commission on EU External Relations was chaired by H.E. Mgr. Rimantas Norvila.

16/11 - H.E. Mgr. Rimantas Norvila chaired the second 2022 meeting of the COMECE Commission on the EU External Relations focused on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and on the situation in Lebanon. The meeting also featured the participation of H. E. Mgr. Joseph Soueif, Maronite Archbishop of Tripoli. In the context of this meeting, the Commission elaborated a short statement following the incident at the border between Ukraine and Poland.

Manuel Barrios Prieto guided a COMECE delegation to the Taizé Community in France for an Eco-spirituality workshop organised by the European Laudato Si' Alliance (ELSiA). Fr.
