07/03 - COMECE offered some recommendations to the European Parliament in view of the upcoming debate and vote on the EU Guidelines on Human Rights Defenders. The recommendations are included in a document elaborated in close dialogue with human rights defenders in Latin America. They aim at strengthening and promoting human rights and environmental defenders worldwide who – as stated by the Holy Father Pope Francis – “risk their lives while fighting for fundamental rights under dictatorships, authoritarian regimes and even in democracies in crisis”.

She realised a video to call on the EU institutions to promote and protect the work of human rights and environmental defenders worldwide. Marina is a former intern of the COMECE Secretariat.
