SWEDISH EU PRESIDENCY | COMECE participates in high-level meeting on loneliness in the EU held on the initiative of Swedish Minister Jakob Forssmed

21/04 - Fr. Manuel Barrios Prieto, General Secretary of COMECE, participated in the very first high-level meeting on loneliness in the EU held in Stockholm on 20-21 April within the framework of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU.
|
The conference was held on the initiative of the Swedish Minister for Social Affairs and Public Health, Jakob Forssmed, and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Daniel and around 85 delegates from EU Member States, organisations, and institutions.

21/04 - COMECE invites you to participate in the conference “Towards a new model for companies in Europe”, to take place at the European Parliament in Brussels on Wednesday 3 May 2023 from 13:00 to 15:30 (CET). The event is co-organised by COMECE and the Arizmendiarrieta Foundation. The conference is hosted by MEP Patrizia Toia.

20/04 - Members of the COMECE Youth Platform gathered at the Secretariat of COMECE in Brussels for their Spring meeting on the margins of the European Youth Forum's Council of Members. They discussed the challenges and priorities of Catholic Youth organisations in Europe and met with faith-based stakeholders to establish cooperation projects in view of the forthcoming months.

NEWS | Brazilian delegation of human rights and environmental defenders visits COMECE
|
|
|
13/04 - The Secretariat of COMECE received a delegation of Brazilian human rights and environmental defenders from the Cordilheira Institute. COMECE General Secretary Fr. Manuel Barrios Prieto praised each member of the delegation for their persistent effort to seek justice in the case of the Brumadinho tragedy in Brazil and for advocating a strong EU diligence law.

NEWS | ICMC General Secretary visits COMECE to exchange on Church's support for refugees from Ukraine

29/03 - COMECE had a fruitful meeting with ICMC General Secretary Mgr. Bob Vitillo about the Church's material, health, spiritual and social support for refugees coming from Ukraine, particularly those with health issues as a result of their traumatic experience.
