09/06 - On Europe Day, the President of the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE), H.E. Mgr. Mariano Crociata, issued a statement calling "for every effort to be made to overcome conflict, so as to achieve a just peace - indispensable prerequisites for the growth of all within the European Union and beyond its borders".

03/05 - The President of COMECE, H.E. Mgr. Mariano Crociata, participated in the Workshop “Christian democracy as the EPP’s Heritage and Future”, held in Vienna on 27-28 April 2023 by the European People’s Party (EPP).
Mgr. Crociata was invited to address the role of Christian values in today’s political scenario in Europe. The event featured the participation of Dubrovka Šuica, Vice-President of the EU Commission and Commissioner on Democracy and Demography, as well as Manfred Weber, President of the EPP.

Fr. Barrios Prieto: “Young Catholics are a precious source of inspiration and vitality for the European project. The youth should be further included in the EU decision-making process”.

NEWS | The European Sunday Alliance advocates for including the fight against loneliness in the EU agenda

02/05 - The European Sunday Alliance held a Breakfast event in the European Parliament on the topic “Work and loneliness: Quality resting time for an improved mental health of workers”. Participants discussed the need for flexibility in the labour market in a post-Covid context, while securing a synchronised weekly day of rest. The discussion highlighted that a common day of rest would decrease loneliness, improve mental health and allow families to have quality time together for community life, social friendship and spiritual activities.
