03/06 - The first session of the 2nd Catholic Youth Convention was held on Thursday 2 June 2022 with the participation of young people from across Europe, who discussed with EU officials and representatives of the Plenary of the Conference on the Future of Europe. The event also featured the welcome remarks by H. Em. Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, President of COMECE, and a keynote speech on CoFoE by Stefan Lunte, General Secretary of Justice and Peace Europe. NEWS | EU Military Bishops in Brussels discuss perspectives for peace

01/06 - Following the first meeting held in 2019, Military Ordinaries from EU Member States gathered at the COMECE Secretariat to meet with EU officials and national representatives to the EU Military Committee and discuss the challenges for the Common Security and Defence Policy. “Inspired by Pope Francis’ Encyclical Letter ‘Fratelli tutti’ – Fr. Barrios Prieto stated – COMECE promotes the vision of a new architecture of peace based on a global ethic of solidarity and cooperation in the service of a future shaped by interdependence and shared responsibility in the whole human family”. 31/05 - A warm welcome to Anne-Flore, who just started her internship at our Secretariat with a focus on Eu policies on migration and asylum. H.E. Mgr. Antoine Hérouard (France) will preside the spring meeting of the COMECE Social Affairs Commission.

COMECE will participate in the CCEE Annual Meeting of the Press Officers of the European Bishops' Conferences. The event will be held in Tirana (Albania).

Fr. Manuel Barrios Prieto, General Secretary of COMECE, will deliver a keynote speech on
|
freedom of conscience and religious freedom during the 2022 Burjan Day of Remembrance, to be held in Vienna. The event will also feature the participation of the General Secretary of the Austrian Bishops' Conference, Peter Schipka, as well as other Church representatives.
