NEWS | In Veritate Award given to EP President Metsola for her achievements in combining Christian and European values

02/10 - The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, was awarded with the “2023 In Veritate Award”. Fr. Barrios Prieto: “Your commitment to democracy, to Christian values and to advance the process of European integration is an example for many”.
The In Veritate Award is given to personalities as a recognition for their outstanding achievements in combining Christian and European values. The Award carries the name of H.E. Mgr. Tadeusz Pieronek, a late Polish prelate and one of the initiators of the International Krakow Conference.

05/10 - COMECE warmly welcomed Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation “Laudate Deum”, recently published by the Holy See. This Exhortation addresses the pressing issue of the climate crisis and extends a call to action to all people of goodwill. COMECE: “The clear and passionate words of the Holy Father will serve us as a good compass in the context of EU environmental policies”.

NEWS | REPAM Colombia delegation visits COMECE to discuss integral human development in the Amazon region

05/10 - A delegation of REPAM Colombia visited the Secretariat of COMECE to discuss key issues in the area of integral human development in the Amazon region. During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the importance of "multilateralism from below", allowing the participation of all, including local and indigenous communities, in political and economic process. The delegation was welcomed by COMECE Adviser Marek Misak. The meeting was facilitated by Secours Catholique.

EVENT | Documentary on child labour in the Dominican Republic to be screened at COMECE

29/09 - An association of former Catholic scouts in Germany, Freundes- und Förderkreis der Deutschen Pfadfinderschaft Sankt Georg from the Diocese of Cologne, visited the Secretariat of COMECE to exchange on our mission of dialogue with the EU institutions, specifically in the fields of social and economic affairs, ethics, culture and education. The delegation was received by advisers: Friederike Ladenburger, Emilio Dogliani, Michele Turzi.
