Alessandro was born in Sicily and has been working at the COMECE Secretariat since 2017. He graduated in Political Science and Journalism at the University of Messina (Italy) and obtained his master’ degree in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Holy Land).

In 2016 he also obtained a second master’s degree in Political Science and Security Studies from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). Currently, he is studying History and Heritage at the University of Burgos (Spain).

He is a journalist, member of the National Council Order of Journalists in Italy since 2010. He has previously lived four years in Australia and nine years in the Middle East, working as a journalist and political analyst on EU and MENA affairs.

Alessandro is passionate about history, archaeology, ancient maps, chess and loves sailing across the Mediterranean Sea with his family during the summer.

He has three nationalities (Australian, Belgian, Italian) and speaks Sicilian, Italian, English, Spanish, French. He has basic communication skills in Hebrew and Arabic.
