The Youth Net is a consultative body within the COMECE Secretariat. Launched in 2022, in the context of the European Year of Youth, the network is composed of young delegates aged 18 to 35, nominated by the EU Bishops’ Conferences.
The Youth Net supports the work of the COMECE Secretariat by bringing a youth perspective to all dimensions of EU policymaking, reflecting young people’s diverse sensitivities to current political and social challenges.
Members of the COMECE Youth Net meet twice a year to discuss issues relevant to young people at EU level. Their perspectives are gathered into written contributions on specific EU policies, which are submitted to EU institutions and disseminated at national level.
Designated members of the Youth Net also participate in the COMECE Assemblies, providing youth input on thematic work carried out during the year. The Youth Net also organises activities throughout the year, aiming to engage the wider public on key topics on the EU agenda, as well as challenges faced by young people across Europe.
