Kateryna Voshkulat

Kateryna comes from Kyiv, Ukraine, and joined the COMECE Secretariat as an intern in September 2026.

She holds two Master’s degrees from KU Leuven, in European Studies and International Politics. During her studies, she developed a particular interest in European integration, EU external relations, human rights, peacebuilding and the European Union’s response to Russia’s war against Ukraine. Her academic research focused on the political and discursive dimensions of the war, including the EU’s enlargement policy and the representation of Ukrainian refugees in the European Parliament.

Alongside her academic work, Kateryna has gained experience in administration and organisational support in Brussels, developing a strong interest in European policymaking and the work of civil society organisations at European level. Through her internship, she is particularly interested in contributing to initiatives promoting peace, justice, human dignity and solidarity in Europe.

Originally from Ukraine, Kateryna is especially passionate about strengthening European solidarity with Ukraine and supporting efforts towards a just and lasting peace. She is also interested in the role of faith-based organisations in European public life and in bringing a human-centred perspective to political discussions.

In her free time, Kateryna enjoys travelling, swimming, exploring creative activities and discovering new places.

She speaks Ukrainian, English, French and Russian, and is continuing to improve her knowledge of other European languages.
