The Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union, H.E. Mgr. Noël Treanor, participated in the St. Michael Annual Reception held in Berlin on Monday 4 September 2023 by the German Bishop Conference (DBK) and its liaison office in Berlin. In his speech, the Apostolic Nuncio promoted the “art of compromise” and called for the protection of democracy. “Politics thrives on vital discussions, impressive rhetoric and different assessments”, Mgr. Treanor stated.
The President of DBK, H.E. Georg Bätzing, highlighted that in view of the many current and future challenges, the Church must find new ways to accompany people, offering orientation and promoting a community in faith.
