Since its foundation in 1980, COMECE has played a unique and essential role in Europe: we ensure that the Christian perspective is heard in European policies and legislation, while informing and mobilising the Church across Member States about the European project.
Today, the decisions and laws adopted by the European institutions have a tangible impact on the lives of all who live in Europe, making our mission to contribute a values-based perspective more important than ever.
COMECE does not receive funding from the European Union or the Holy See. The Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union support us financially. However, this support alone is not sufficient to carry out our vital mission. Your contribution allows us to maintain our independence and to continue to bring a Catholic perspective to the development of European legislation with integrity and clarity.
