EVENT | COMECE-FAFCE Conference at the European Parliament: exploring Integral Human Ecology and the role of families

The Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE) warmly invites you to attend the conference titled “Integral Human Ecology: Intergenerational Solidarity”, to be held at the European Parliament on Tuesday, 5 November 2024. Programme | Concept Note | Send us an email to register

This conference aims to emphasise that integral environmental protection naturally aligns with safeguarding family life.

Attendees will consider how addressing the effects of climate change and environmental degradation calls for a commitment to fostering a culture of family and local networks, countering loneliness and poverty, reducing dependency-driven consumption, and empowering the family to fulfil its central role within civil society.

The event will provide a platform for participants to exchange perspectives on the necessity of a holistic approach to the intricate ecological challenges we face—bringing together the cultural, political, social, and economic dimensions essential to preserving “our common home” for future generations.

The conference will feature representatives from the Holy See, the European Union, and various Church organisations. This event is co-organised by COMECE and the Federation of Catholic Family Associations in Europe (FAFCE). The conference will take place at the European Parliament (Room SPAAK 5B1) on Tuesday, 5 November 2024, from 15:00 to 17:00.

Attendance is limited to individuals with a European Parliament badge, and spaces are limited. To register, please send us an email.
