The document includes comments on the recast of the Single Permit Directive and of the Long-term Residence Directive in view of the upcoming Trilogues between the institutions of the European Union.

The Christian Group underlines its hope for enhanced mobility and rights for third-country nationals, the prospects for efficient procedures and a broader inclusivity, which would signal a proactive stride towards reinforcing the EU’s commitment to equal treatment and integration”.

The group also expects the interinstitutional negotiations to harmonize regulatory frameworks while further advancing the interests of both Member States and third-country nationals alike.

COMECE is a member of the Christian Group on Migration and Asylum, which gathers organisations representing Churches throughout Europe – Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Anglican – as well as Christian agencies particularly concerned with migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and victims of human trafficking.
