The TTIP on the Agenda of the COMECE Autumn Plenary Assembly

The COMECE Autumn Plenary Assembly opens on Wednesday 12 November. 20 Bishops from all over Europe will attend the 2 days closed meeting. The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) will be the main topic of the Plenary.

The Plenary Assembly of COMECE will be held from Wednesday 12 to Thursday 13 November 2014 in the Secretariat of COMECE (Square de Meeûs, 19 – 1050 Bruxelles). The session starts on Wednesday at 9.00 hrs and ends on Thursday after lunch.

The Bishops representing the Bishops’ Conferences of the 28 EU Member States will be informed by the EU Chief negotiator of the TTIP and by a variety of experts from the political and academic world.

The meeting is not open to the public. There will be no Press Conference. A final Press release will be issued at the end of the session on Thursday at 2 pm.

Furthermore on 11 November, the COMECE Bishops will pay tribute to those who lost their lives on battle fields of the First World War. CCEE will be represented by Cardinal Puljic, the Archbishop of Vrhbosna (Sarajevo). A final message will be issued at the end of the Commemoration, at 17:30 on Tuesday.
