From 23-26 May 2019, all EU citizens across the continent will have to elect the new members of the European Parliament. The results will condition the political decisions impacting our day to day lives for the next five years.

In view of this crucial democratic appointment, COMECE Bishops will exchange on how to better promote “dialogue” as the main tool to face the challenges, uncertainties and transformations impacting on the EU institutions and on our future.

The dialogue with Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, will be an opportunity for Bishops to highlight the need to rediscover Europe’s common identity and better protect persons, families and cultures. Placing the human person at the heart of public policies and involving citizens in projects perceived as more inclusive and better serving the common good, shall also be part of EU priorities.

European Bishops will discuss COMECE’s recent activities, which are giving concrete content to the open, transparent and regular dialogue between EU institutions and Churches as foreseen by Article 17 TFEU.
