Held in April 2024 in the context of the New European Bauhaus Festival 2024, the event showcased a series of innovative projects to make religious heritage sites more sustainable and inclusive by fostering adaptation to climate change challenges, becoming more environmentally-friendly and connecting local communities to these sites to secure their future.

The conference featured a keynote presentation by Anne Grady, Seconded Cultural Heritage National Expert from the National Museum of Ireland to the CULT Committee of the European Parliament.

The event also included the presentation of best practices by Alex McCallion, Director of Works and Precinct at York Minster, Tobias Funke, Pastor at Dresden Youth Church, and Roel De Ridder, Coordinator of the Platform for the Future of Parish Churches.

The event was organised by COMECE, the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD) and the Future of Religious Heritage (FRH).
